Genshin Impact: Where to get Loach Pearls

Posted by Tobi Tarwater on Sunday, April 30, 2023

With Genshin Impact's major updates coming every six weeks, which is pretty incredible, a lot of materials that were once not very usable in the game might become extremely valuable; one such example of this is the Starconch. Once a completely useless item, which was used for nothing, is now one of Childe's main ascension items.

Where to get Loach Pearls

To get Loach Pearls in Genshin Impact, you must find lizards known as Golden Loaches, who are incredibly evasive lizards to capture. Though every time you catch one, you will earn a Loach Pearl. These Loach Pearls are going to be essential in the next update Genshin Impact 1.2.

The Golden Loach is harder to acquire than any other material; this is because of the amount that spawns in Teyvat compared to any other type. For the sake of this guide, we will be informing you of the closest waypoint and the direction needed to go. Catching them is up to you! Thanks to taka.gg for the information for this guide!

Golden Loach locations

  • Location 1 - Golden Loach x1
    • Waypoint - Stone Gate
      • Area - Southeast of this waypoint
        • When you spawn at this waypoint, immediately look southwest and jump off the wooden lookout. You should see water beneath you and a mining ore to the left next to a boulder. The boulder you need to aim for is the two to the right of it in the water. If you are going in the right direction, Dihua Marsh will appear on your screen. Land on the two boulders, and the Golden Loach is in front of you. Try and chase the lizard into the land, so it's easier to capture.
  • Location 2 - Golden Loach x1
    • Waypoint - Stone Gate
      • Area - Southwest of this waypoint
        • As you spawn, jump off directly in front of you and glide until you can see a Hilichurl on a wooden raft with some crates. Once again, the Dihua Marsh will appear to let you know you are heading in the right direction. On the third set of stones passed the Hilichurl sits the Golden Loach.
  • Location 3 - Golden Loach x3
    • Waypoint - Dihua Marsh Statue of the Seven
      • Area - Northwest of this Statue
        • Upon spawning, head Northwest to the little island you can see on your minimap. Keep to the island's right side, and next to some white bushes is the three Golden Loaches.
  • Location 4 - Golden Loach x1
    • Waypoint - Dihua Marsh Statue of the Seven
      • Area - Southeast of this Statue
        • On spawning, head directly southwest, past a boulder, and in between a wheelbarrow to the right. You'll see some small section of water in front of you. The lizard is looking into this water on the left.
  • Location 5 - Golden Loach x3
    • Waypoint - Dihua Marsh Statue of the Seven
      • Area - South (near the bridge)
        • When you spawn, head south and go over the bridge. The first Golden Loach is on the bridge itself. The next one is to the left of the bridge when you see the water head right to where the boulders are, and it's in the water. Go back to the bridge and face south; you now need to head to the bridge's right side. Follow the path down to the water, and you should see the third Golden Loach.
  • Location 6 - Golden Loach x8
    • Waypoint - Dihua Marsh Statue of the Seven
      • Area - Southeast (on an Island)
        • You should see a small island to the southeast of the bridge, with some enemies occupying a section of it. On this island, just wander about, and you should at least get approximately 8 Golden Loaches to give or take.
  • Location 7 - Golden Loach x2
    • Waypoint - Wangshu Inn
      • Area - North of this waypoint
        • The two Golden Loaches here are best to be approached from Wangshu Inn's side, as any other way they will head deeper into the water, making them uncatchable.
        • As you spawn, make your way north; just follow the railings until you see an NPC called Huai'an. Jump off the side and readjust, so you're heading north, you should see the Wangshu Inn bridge entrance in front of you. There should be water in front of you, with boulders in the water close to the land, with some enemies on. Land in between the two boulders, and one Loach should be beneath you, and the other one close on your left.
