Monster Hunter Rise offers an array of enemies for players to challenge during their monster hunts. The Bishaten, a Fanged Beast with a powerful prehensile tail, may prove challenging to an unprepared hunter. Make sure you've got the most effective elements and weaponry when fighting this foe, and earn yourself some sweet loot in the process.
When fighting this beast, it's good to know what it's weak against or where to inflict that good old damage to slaughter the foe quickly. So here's Bishaten's weaknesses, resistances, and drop rates.
All Bishaten Weaknesses
Bishaten Elemental Weakness
The main weakness of the Bishaten is ice, but if you have fire, it's a solid second option. But do not use water or dragon, as this will do nothing extra. Here are the locations where you should attack X for additional elemental damage.
You should focus attacks with an elemental weapon on the Bishaten's Head, Torso, and Tail. These are the most vulnerable areas of the Bishaten, and striking here yields the highest damage output.

Bishaten Location Weakness
If you are not wielding an elemental weapon, you want to attack places where you deal extra damage. These places on a monster differentiate depending on the weapon type you use—Cutting, Impact, or Shot.
- If using a cutting weapon focus on the chest and the wings.
- If using a blunt weapon focus on the head/break and the chest.
- If using a bow weapon focus on shooting the head and the wings.
Bishaten Resistances and Ailments
The Bishaten is resistant to almost all ailments in Monster Hunter Rise, and only two ailments will phase this Fanged Beast—Blast and Iceblight. If you've got a fast attacking weapon like the Dual Blades brandishing one of these elements, you can inflict these ailments with ease.
Bishaten Drop Rates - Carves, Capturing & Breaking
Depending on your quest, you can get different rewards to forge armor and weapons, but each has a drop rate percentage, ultimately RNG. It is pure luck what you receive.
- There are multiple ways of gaining items
- You can carving three times once the monster is dead.
- You can capture the monster instead of killing it.
- Or carving the broken appendage of said monster.
- From looting the drops from the monster
- After successfully compleing your quest
Most monsters have breakable parts, and the Bishaten is no different. You can break the following parts of this monster—Head, Wings, and Tail. If you break these pieces during the hunt, you will earn extra rewards after completing the quest.
